You have to have ICAO level 4 in German. Munich is working the lower airspace (the upper airspace will move to Karlsruhe by the end of the year) and there are German speaking VFR pilots.

Positivity, I can understand your point, I'm from Duisburg as well zwinker You get used to it very soon and to say the truth, there are not a lot people in and near Munich who are Bavarian, most are from ohter parts of the country so that you can understand them zwinker

Have you ever been in controlled Spanish airspace ?
There you will get a real nice listen-and-understand experience froehlich
In relation Austrian ATS is way more comfortable.

Just my 2 cents.

I guess the difficulty regarding ATCs from Vienna is not to understand them, but not to cry out with laughter while listening to them... grins

(No offense)

Why don't you try to apply in Karlsruhe? You don't have to speak German there, since they're working Upper Airspace only. I don't know if they still hire ready entries but it's worth a try! Good look! froehlich001
